AN elderly parishioner has shown me a picture of Lancaut

Church. I am not sure of the date of the photograph, but

it shows the church before its roof was removed, as I

understand it, sometime after the 1860s when according

to Mike Salter (Parish Churches of the Forest of Dean) the

church was finally abandoned.
