THE Silver Fox Café on the A48 between Newnham and Broadoak will be hosting a national award-winning road safety group's open day later this month.

From 10am-4pm on Sunday May 27 Severn Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) will be offering road safety advice in an event open to all the region's motorcyclists and pillion riders.

SAM has many members from the Forest, Newent, Monmouthshire, Severnside and Chepstow.

Experienced Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM) observers and senior observers will be available to discuss riding techniques, road safety and the Institute of Advanced Motoring's Skills for Life package for motorcyclists over a free cup of coffee or tea.

Free observed rides will be available on the day for those with their own motorcycles and full licence, and feedback will be given to participating riders and pillions.

At a 4pm draw, one lucky participant will win the IAM's £139 Skills For Life package. All other attendees will be offered the package at a discounted rate.

A free RAC package is also offered to all those taking up IAM's Skill for Life package with Severn Advanced Motorcyclists.
