THE A48 was closed for nearly three hours this morning (Friday, January 6) between Lydney and Tutshill after three collisions.
The first collision happened around 6.50am near Severndale Farm in Tidenham.
Two vehicles were in collision followed by another involving three vehicles and lastly a vehicle and a motorbike.
Among the vehicles involved were a Renault Megane, a Citroen DS3, a lorry and a Renault Clio.
The exact circumstances are not clear but it is thought the second and third collision happened because of the one in front.
Two people were described as ’walking wounded’ with minor injuries and one of them, a woman, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
The road was closed between the junction with Gloucester Road at Tutshill and Taurus Crafts with traffic being diverted along the B4226 towards St Briavels.
The road re-opened on the Chepstow side at 9.30am.
