GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council is ploughing an additional £1 million into road resurfacing and patching.

Resurfacing to improve and renew the condition of the Forest's roads was a priority at the May elections. The extra £1 million, plus the additional £5.9 million already being spent on our roads will address some of the previous under-investment in our infrastructure.

It can only be good for the Forest business community and I would urge the county's commuters to be patient.

We have some excellent staff working out of the Cannop depot. They are doing everything that they can to keep disruption to a minimum.

I have been allocated an additional sum of money to be allocated to small highways projects. Parish councils in the Bream and Blakeney area are currently drawing up plans on how best to utilise this for the local community.
