MONTHS of hard work will go on show this weekend when ChAOS puts on its production of Dick Whittington.
It will be the first of three productions this year by ChAOS – the Chepstow Amateur Operatic Society.
The show was written by society member Marianne Bowen and is produced by Keith Weight.
It has all the ingredients of a traditional panto including a hero, Karen James as Dick, his love, Natasha Richards as Alys, his friend, Cat played by Abigail Samuel and a villain, Jon Stow as King Rat, in a series of adventures and misadventures.
The 40-strong society has been in rehearsal twice a week at the Bulwark Community Centre since September.
As 2016 is a year between Chepstow Festivals, the society will stage three shows with Beauty and the Beast planned for the spring and a play in the autumn.
The current production opens on Friday (January 29) at the Drill Hall in Lower Church Street, Chepstow at 7.30pm and there is another evening performance on Saturday at 7.30pm. There are also 2.30pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are available from Chepstow Museum in Lower Church Street and Hannah’s Music in Moor Street.
