HILLSIDE Brewery in Longhope held a beer and food pairing event last Friday, which attracted around 40 people to sample brews and to feast on a specially-prepared custom menu, featuring six courses.

A spokesman told the Review: “It all went really well and was a great success.

“We had great feedback from the people that attended so we are looking at hosting more in the new year.

“We had just under 40 attendees, and it was a fun night, with a great atmosphere, with people interacting with a fun pub quiz based on beer facts throughout the evening, alongside the interesting talk from the beer and food sommelier – and qualified master brewer – Derek Orford, discussing the beer and food pairing.

“Everyone enjoyed the food with the menu being created by the talented Yvette Farrell from Harts Barn Cookery School.”

He added: “Our next events are a bonfire night on Friday November 6 and a Christmas carol service on Friday December 18. Both going to held again here on site at the brewery in Longhope.

“We hope to repeat the beer and food pairing event again early next year.
