THE scooter competition at the Scoot 'n' Jam Festival was not for the faint-hearted as one competitor had a nasty fall – but that didn't stall the show.
More than 700 people packed out Lydney Skate Park on Sunday as all ages came along to enjoy the town's first festival of music and scooters.
The day was held in aid of raising money for the Lydney Recreation Trust which is aiming to buy a new jump box for skaters.
One of the organisers, Melissa Challener said: "The attendance was fabulous and the footfall was at least 700 people. Unfortunately, one teenage lad who took part in the scoot69 competition fell and bumped his head.
"Luckily he was wearing a helmet, and he was checked over by our on-site medical staff who said that he was fine.
"Apart from that the day went as well as it could and the music was fantastic. Both individual acts and bands performed brilliant acoustic sets as well as pop/rock tracks."
There were three sections for the Scoot69 competition and the under-13s amateur was won by Ben Wilkins, Alphie Mann came second and Devon Capstick was third. Leigham Stephens won the over-13s amateur, Connor Nimmo was second and Liam Prosser third.
In the professionals competition, Ollie Murphy took gold, Gus Hayward won silver and Ben Boxell took bronze. The first prize winners in the over-13s section received a limited edition blazer deck, pair of grips and t-shirt and a place on the Scoot69 team.
