CLASSIC car owners should rev up their engines and get their entries in early for the 15th Wye Run next month.

The popular annual event organised by Chepstow and District Rotary Club will take place on Saturday, April 29, starting from Chepstow Garden Centre at 9am, with the field limited to 80 vehicles.

The route will keep to lesser-used scenic roads in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons.

Rotary spokesman Christopher Wilson said: “The success and popularity of the last 14 classic car runs has led to this event becoming a welcome addition to the calendar for classic car enthusiasts.

“The Wye Run is a non-competitive event for classic and interesting cars and the people who enjoy using them. The aim is to provide a memorable and leisurely drive through our lovely countryside, to provide onlookers with the spectacle of interesting cars, and to raise money for worthwhile charities supported by Chepstow and District Rotary.”

Participants can bring their own lunch or picnic and stop to enjoy it where they please or stop off at a restaurant or pub.

The entry fee is £25 per car, and drivers will receive a Monte Carlo-style ‘rally plaque’.

Participants will be awarded completion certificates and photographs of their cars.
