HUNDREDS of people turned out for Cinderford's big event of the year – including characters Star Wars and Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones.
But Three Little Pigs from Ross-on-Wye stole the show and took first prize for the best float in the procession from the Rugby Club down the High Street. Second went to Snow White, by a Parragate Street group, and third were the Dragon Tails from Heywood Playscheme, Cinderford.
And there were plenty of other attractions to enjoy including a funfair and a stunt show by the Solent Eagles motorcycle display team.
The organisers hop this year's event will raise £5,000 to go towards a big carnival next year celebrating the millennium. It will also be the town's 25th carnival.
