RESIDENTS at The Coombs in Coleford brought a taste of Hawaii to the Forest last Thursday.

For one day, the care home held a beach party as part of a fun day event that all homes across The Orders of St John Care Trust in Gloucestershire took part in.

Activities co-ordinator, Sue Griffin said: "We were given the theme of a beach party and decided to throw a Hawaiian party, which was perfect as the weather was very kind to us.

"Many of our residents are frail so it's hard to get them out and about therefore holding an event at the home means they are still able to have fun. Some of their friends and family joined us.

"We all dressed up in traditional costume and had some fun."
