WELL done Keith Morgan for the excellent letter in last week's Review, well done to Dean Forest Voice, and very big well done to the Review for highlighting the continued fight to stop this appalling idea to illegally concrete over a large area of our supposedly statuary 'protected' Forest, an area so rich in wildlife and beauty that the local council still supply colour brochures to tourists etc. singing its praises.

The taxpayers money – yes, yours and mine – already spent on this stupid invasion would pay for car parking charges in the Forest of Dean for the next couple of hundred years or more, plus weekly dustbin collection for the next 10 years or so. The public money intended to be spent would probably pay for free council tax for our lifetime and for what – a college when we already got one (in the right place), an hotel nobody wants or is likely to use (we've already got more than enough good hotels and guest houses), and an unbelievable expensive, unneeded road driven through this tranquil, sensitive area. Of course, all this is allowed by our supposed guardians, The Forestry Commission.

Our council made up of 90 per cent "foreigners" and encouraged by a few empire building locals have allowed outside quangos to dictate the fate of the Forest of Dean, but people power is very influential. Dean Forest Voice was created to give our people a voice, a collective voice. So stand tall and use your voice.
