An ardent Forester
I'm a Forester, born and bred,
Strong in the back and thick in the 'ead.
But I love the Forest, and I know it's mine
So bugger off your privateers 'cos
It sure yunt thine.
Ol butt, I be 'onest, I'm on a mission,
Long live the wonderful Forestry Commission.
I've wandered the Forest all my life
Free and easy, wi'out any strife.
Now if anybody be a gonna moan an' grouse
Just remember what was said
At our ancient Speech House.
The history and mystery of the Royal Forest of Dean
Must remain as it is, for all to be seen.
