WELL-KNOWN Forest disability athlete, Andy Lewis, has received the great news he's on the GB squad.

After seven months of training for the opportunity, the 31-year-old of Lydney, will represent GB in the ITU World Triathlon in London on May 31, which includes a week in London with his team mates at a training camp. He will also compete in the first-ever Paratriathlon in Llanelli, south Wales, this Saturday.

Andy said: "At long last, after all the effort and support from local people, I have made it. I cannot focus on anything else right now and really need to make sure my focus is on London. I plan to compete in every event put in front of me, however some serious with my leg may hold me back in the coming months unless I get a new leg built.

"The way I train six to seven days a week can take a massive impact on your body and you have to learn to recover correctly. However I am struggling to do this but with the support of my sports therapist, Fliss Howes and local Iron Man competitor Richard Hendy, I'm getting where I need to be.

"I have now received sponsorship from local bike shop Severn Valley Cycles, and Paligap/Fastforward is supplying some great products to make me faster on the bike.

"I am always looking for training partners so anyone wanting to have a go at triathlon or thinking about getting fit please get in touch."
