FOREST Paralympian Andy Lewis created history by winning the first-ever gold medal in the PT2 triathlon in Rio.
The Lydney athlete has now added Paralympics gold to his European and world triathlon titles.
The 33-year-old, whose Twitter handle is @bladerunnerandy, completed the course in 1hr 11mins 49secs.
In each of the three disciplines: swimming, cycling and running, nobody could match him
Andy, lost his right leg as a result of an incident in which his motorcycle was hit by a lorry when he was 16 and it was sport that turned his life around.
He started on the road to Rio in 2012 when he started with Triathlon England and he won his first title the following year.
Following his success, Andy took to Twitter to thank all those who had supported him in realising his Paralympics dream.
