A FOUNDER member of the Dean Writers' Circle has published his second book.

John Stanley of Lydney has gone into print with The Patchwork Forest an anthology of his short stories.

He said: "I started writing in 1978 and then we started the Dean Writers' Circle and I've been writing regularly since then, primarily short stories, poetry and essays.

"Over the past few years we've been encouraging members of the writers' circle to get their work published.

"I've put together some of my short stories which are located between the two rivers and the first is set in 5000 BC and the last in 1995."

Mr Stanley reckons he has written well over 50 stories and there may be material for another anthology.

The book is available from the Forest Bookshop in Coleford.
