THE Review wishes to apologise to Cllr Jane Horne (Tibberton) for what we now understand was the inaccurate reporting of her remarks about poor design at the District Council's Development Control Committee in October.

In our article it was alleged that Cllr Horne had  mentioned Beachley Barracks near Chepstow (home of 1 Rifles). In fact Cllr Horne had made no mention at all of the  local barracks.

Cllr Jane Horne said: "It is very important to me that the Review puts the record straight and recognises that it misreported my remarks at the Committee  

"These related to accommodation my husband and I occupied at the start of his military career. Modern army accommodation, especially at Beachley Barracks, is  well designed and provides good quality homes for our brave and hard working service men and women."

The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review apologises to Cllr Horne for any embarrassment this report caused to her and is pleased to be able to set the record straight.
