DETECTIVES investigating an armed robbery at High Noon Service Station in Symonds Yat renewed their appeal for information on the BBC's Crimewatch.

The robbery happened at 9.55pm on Tuesday, October 7 as staff were preparing to close the service station.

Two men, wearing face masks and armed with a long barrelled over and under shotgun, entered the station and demanded money before making their escape in a blue Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4.

Detective Constable Philippa Conway, of West Mercia Police, said: "This type of crime is very rare in Herefordshire but we need the public's help to trace the offenders.

"Anyone with information should get in touch as soon as possible.

"This was a nasty robbery and a very frightening experience for the staff at the service station.

"We hope that the Crimewatch feature will appeal to the conscience of those who may have information to come forward and help us bring these offenders to justice."

Anyone who has information should contact Detective Constable Conway by calling the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 0696 of October 7.
