PIRATES have been seen running around Blakeney Primary School.

Well, not actual pirates, school pupils enjoyed a day dressed as a pirate as part of their latest topic.

To do the theme justice the children donned pirate garb and learnt to talk ‘pirate patter’ with some heard to holler ‘Ahoy There’, ‘Arghh’ and ‘Aye Aye Captain!’

As well as speaking the lingo, wearing eye patches and balancing parrots on shoulders, the children were enjoying singing sea shanties, making treasure boxes and designing treasure maps.

Headteacher Brett Stevenson said: “It never ceases to amaze how much the children embrace the opportunity to get in role, particularly as pirates. Our topic-themed days always prove to be great fun, and educational too.”
