HUSTINGS day is a big date for the Labour group, it's your chance to vote for the person you want to be elected as MP for the Forest of Dean. Labour Party voters I urge you to vote for Councillor Tim Gwilliam.
Tim in my opinion is the only person qualified to run as MP representing the Forest of Dean. Tim is a born and bred Forester with beliefs and values to support it, he lives with his family in the heart of the community and wants the best opportunities not only for his own children, but for all Foresters. He understands the issues facing local people and goes out of his way to try to solve them.
Tim has much experience of working and listening to the people, he works day-to-day with the elderly in sheltered accommodation; he has recently been involved with younger members of the community successfully sourcing funding for a fully equipped play area. Nothing is too much trouble for Tim.
Tim is an active member of the West Dean Parish Council and has been for the last three years, he is now a district councillor, winning the by election for Berry Hill with a landslide. He clearly is "the people's choice".
Tim is a founder member of FANS the community group formed over concerns about the Five Acres site, his pro-active approach is now looking to create and develop facilities to be used by all ages all over the Forest and beyond. Tim is the chairperson on the Neighbourhood Development Plan, again looking at ways to protect and enhance the surrounding areas.
Tim Gwilliam is the best person for the Forest, he has the background and the passion to succeed and that's something that cannot be denied by anyone who has met him.
Tim makes things happen and is not afraid to tackle injustice head on. What drives him forward is his dedication and love of the Forest. I have witnessed his desire to make it a thriving place, to create long-term employment and opportunities for all. He is the only credible candidate with the strength of character to beat Mark Harper.
Make the right decision for yourself and the Forest, Vote Councillor Tim Gwilliam.
