AFGHANISTAN veteran turned actor Malcolm Williams is raising money for three charities, including the Heart of the Forest School, with a long distance run around the Forest of Dean – with a twist.

The actor, who has appeared in several American TV shows as well as touring as Rocky from the Rocky Horror Show, will be running with a friend for 35 miles around the Forest this coming Saturday (November 22), but with rucksacks on their backs. At each mile they will be forced to perform a challenge, which will be set for them by the public.

In addition, advance fundraising money is to be converted into coins, and both runners will add a bag of coins to their pack at each mile marker. They have also set themselves a penalty that if, for any reason, they cannot perform one of the challenges, then they have to add an extra half mile to their trek.

Having already raised funds for other charities including CLIC, AIDS Service Association, and the Children's Opportunity Centre, Malcolm is this time raising money for three selected charities: Help For Heroes, Orchid and the Heart of the Forest School.

Malcolm has already arrang­ed for two sponsors for the run, including the Hill Street Restaurant in Lydney.
