Dear 'Bus Woes of Bream' (Review July 22) – as with everything in life you have to 'be prepared'.
I'm sorry you were put off by the breakdown of the No23 bus but I, for one, would like to recommend this route (and all other bus routes) to fellow travellers.
What bliss it is to come back from visiting family and friends and not have to worry about catching the last connection of the day in Lydney. Once settled on the No 23 I can sit and read my book all the way to my front door. What luxury!
I've been travelling this route for 12 years (on a daily basis for nine of them) and have experienced maybe one breakdown a year. I always have a book to read, a packet of polos (for energy) and a small bottle of water. If we stop for an hour, I am well provided for.
So, 'Bus Woes', grit your teeth, prepare yourself and think of all the carbon saving you are doing by not using a car.
