THE sky was the limit for a daredevil doctors surgery receptionist when she parachute jumped from 15,000ft for a hospice charity.

Becky Parsons, 21, raised a whopping £1,219 for Great Oaks in Coleford from her intrepid skydive and presented the cheque last month.

Some of her family volunteer at the hospice, so Becky decided to takle the plunge and raise funds for it.

Becky, who lives in Upleadon near Newent, travelled to Old Sarum Airfield in Wiltshire last September with seven family supporters to do the 15,000ft jump.

She boarded the plane at 10am and strapped to her instructor jumped out of the plane to freefall at 125 miles per hour for a full minute.

The parachute was then released and they glided to earth a couple of minutes later with a giant smile.

On landing, Becky said: “Brilliant, I have to that again someday.”

Ruth Keeble of Great Oaks praised her efforts, saying: ““What a fantastic achievement. Becky was so brave or crazy to take this challenge on, and she did with a big smile.

“It’s wonderful to see the younger generation supporting Great Oaks Hospice”

Becky thanked all her sponsors for backing her.
