THE Courtfield Arms in Lydbrook has undergone a transformation, re-opening last week as a self-catering holiday home.
The project is the brainchild of Ross-on-Wye businessman Lewis Scott who has renamed the former pub and restaurant the River Wye Lodge.
Co-owner of Big House Holiday Lets, Lewis said: “We have seven other properties nearby which are full all year round. River Wye Lodge is already fully booked till January with many weeks filled for 2017 as well.”
“We want to see the many hundreds of guests who’ll be staying at the lodge spend their money locally. All our holidaymakers are fully informed of the wonderful array of attractions, activities, and places to eat and drink on their doorstep and they’ll make a great contribution to our local economy, as well as helping save a beautiful old building”.
The company has two more projects due to reopen in the next 12 months and is looking for more properties.
“We still have more people wanting to holiday in the Forest and Wye Valley than we have properties in which to accommodate them, so if anybody out there has a property they think might work, please get in touch.” Lewis added.
