TWO big name bands are set to rock local castles this summer.
Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene, famous for hits such as The Day We Caught the Train and Riverboat Song, will play inside the atmospheric walls of Caldicot Castle on Saturday, July 15.
Meanwhile eighties post-punk giants New Model Army are set to play Chepstow Castle as part of Castell Roc on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28.
The legendary global underground cult band are respected world-wide and massively influential throughout their time but have steadfastly refused to belong to any single musical genre.
Ocean Colour Scene have notched up nine albums, three of those in the UK’s top five – 1996’s Moseley Shoals, 1997’s Marchin’ Already and 1999’s One From The Modern, as well as a run of nine successive Top 20 hit singles, including 1996’s The Riverboat Song.
Tickets are priced at £38.50 each, including fees and are available from 9:00am on Friday, February 3 at all four Monmouthshire leisure centres, online at www.caldicotcastle.co.uk
Tickets for the New Model Army’s performance at Chepstow Castle is priced at £20 for an early bird tick available from the box Office on 0871 220 0260 or from Hannah’s Music on 01291 627122.
