THOUSANDS of bikers hit the old Severn Bridge for the 17th running of the Hoggin’ the Bridge charity run.

The event was originally a celebration of Harley Davidson bikes but now there are machines of all shapes and sizes from mopeds to powerful beasts.

There was plenty of dressing up from video game character Mario to a spooky, Hallowe’en-themed bike while one side car was replaced by a bath for the run from Aust services.

Bikers headed along the M48 to Magor and travelled back through Caldicot to Chepstow racecourse where there was a parade of bikes and live music.

The event raises money for meningitis charities and a number of local causes and is approaching a total of nearly £100,000 since the first run in 2000.
