A CHARITY set up in memory of a young woman from Lydbrook who lost her life in a road traffic accident donated £5,000 to an air ambulance charity on what would have been her 24th birthday.

Leanne Davies was 19 when she died in May 2013. Her family set up Leanne’s gift to provide financial support to families in the Forest who lose a young person in a road traffic collision and to raise road safety awareness.

The teenager, who was training to be a hairdresser, was a passenger when she was killed in a collision.

On what would have been Leanne’s 24th birthday, the trustees of the charity visited the Great Western Air

Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) in Filton to present them with a cheque for £5,000.
