FRIENDS of Lydney hospital have been presented with a cheque for £775 thanks to a local family.

Rob Aldridge’s 50th birthday marked the tenth anniversary of his mother Jean’s death. He and his sisters, Jayne O’Nions and Polly McConachie, used his birthday party last month as an opportunity to raise funds.

Polly Says: “Our mother lived in Whitecroft and was cared for by Lydney Hospital during her illness. We’ve raised funds for the friends before and we wanted to support the hospital further.

“This time my sister managed to gather support from lots of local tourist attractions, pubs, restaurants and producers, as well as some national companies to provide 22 great prizes.

“We want to say thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket and helped us raise money for our local community hospital.”
