NEARLY 500 homes in Tutshill were left without power on Tuesday morning (June 27) by a mystery fault.
The power cut lasted less than an hour for most residents, but 32 homes remained off-grid once power was restored.
A spokesperson for Western Power Distribution said; “At 8.08 on Tuesday morning we had 479 customers off-supply in the Tutshill area of Chepstow.
“By 8.50 all but 32 customers were back on supply. Those 32 customers were put onto a generator within two hours, and remained on the generator while we carried out repairs to the underground cable. Their power supply was restored at 12.37pm.
“The cause of the fault is not known at the moment. We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
