THE annual clash between Welsh Mari Lwyd teams and English Morris sides and wassailers drew huge crowds to Chepstow on Saturday.
The main attraction was the clash of both nations in the middle of Chepstow's old iron bridge, an event that was watched by hundreds of locals and visitors from just about everywhere, said Mike Lewis, one of the organisers.
"I have to say it was just about as fantastic as it can get. It was easily the best so far," he said.
While the clear but crisp weather held pubs in the town did fantastic business and there was a great ceilidh to follow which was also packed out.
"We already have some great plans for next year, and we are certain to keep the ceilidh," said Mike.
