LYDBROOK readers have told the Review they have been without broadband services throughout last weekend – but BT says it isn't aware of any widespread problem.

"We have had a few customers with individual problems, that is all," a BT spokesman said yesterday.

However Guy Maskell says he knows quite a few people on the Lydbrook exchange who lost the service on Thursday night/ Friday morning and it wasn't restored until Monday morning October 11.

"I discovered the problem on Friday morning. I actually know directly of no one who had a working connection and know many people who didn't," he said.

He added he would like to know what the problem was and why it took BT three days to sort it out.

•BT is urging Forest people to become involved in plans to roll-out super-fast fibre-optic broadband to two thirds of the country by 2015. More details will be available soon, they say.
