MORE than 40 people were without water on Saturday (August 17) when a water pipe burst on the A40.
Customers, as well as people driving along the A40, were affected as Severn Trent carried out repairs to restore customers' water supply.
The water main situated between Oakle Street and Highnam roundabout burst at 6.45am and police were called to close the road and divert traffic.
A police officer was at the junction of Oakle Street on the A48, at Minsterworth controlling the traffic that was coming through the lanes.
A spokesman for Severn Trent said: "We'd like to apologise to customers in Churcham and Highnam, who may have been affected by a burst water pipe this weekend.
"This occurred on Saturday morning and we worked quickly to shut off the damaged pipe. We received around 40 calls from customers and our team worked as quickly as possible to restore our customers' water supply.
"While we carried out repairs, the road was closed over the weekend and traffic lights were in place on Monday while we restored the road to a safe condition.
