CHANGES in printing technology have meant that Calendar Lady Promotions of Ross on Wye have managed to achieve a million worldwide sales of desk and wall calendars for 2014.
The largest independent suppliers of calendars in the UK, the company produce large run popular calendars, but have increasingly moved into more specialist designs.
Phil Clarke from the company commented: "This year Calendar Lady Promotions have supplied over a million calendars to businesses and individuals all over the world.
"In the past it's only been economical to print calendars in large numbers, but recent investment in the very latest digital print technology has enabled us to print much shorter runs of personalised calendars and cards for businesses who need smaller quantities, using their own photographs of staff or products, and even drawings and illustrations.
"In this electronic age we all have calendars and diaries on our computers, mobile phones and tablets, yet annual sales of wall and desk calendars are still on the increase."
He also revealed their top ten chart of their most popular 2014 calendars, which are:
1. One Direction, 2. Moshi Monsters, 3. Olly Murs, 4. Cheryl Cole, 5. Mine Craft, 6. Kylie Minogue, 7. Kelly Brook, 8. Cliff Richard, 9. Sherlock, 10. Dr Who.
Phil added: "166,000 people have already bought the BBC Countryfile 2014 Calendar (which features the best 12 amateur wildlife images), and others with good early sales include Peppa Pig, Arsenal FC, The Only Way Is Essex, BBC Frozen Planet and Angry Birds."
