THE group behind last year's succesful Eco Open Homes event is looking for homes and businesses who can help them display eco-friendly technologies.
Transition Eco Open Homes want people to open their doors to the public for a day during a weekend in September.
Last September, 26 homes and businesses which had eco technologies in the Forest and Newent areas displayed the advantages of energy saving, the saving in CO2 emissions, the use of sunlight for heating and making electricity, and water conservation.
There were over 1,000 visits to the houses, and visitors were highly enthusiastic about what they saw after learning how to have the technology installed properly and how to run it effectively.
"Good cavity and roof insulation can make a considerable reduction in heating bills, and there are grants available to meet some of the cost from the council," said a spokesman.
Open homes are required on the weekend of September 8 and 9. Eco Open Homes will give support and guidance.
