TWO calves are believed to have battered themselves to death in panic after thieves broke into a farm stealing petrol and animal drugs.
Police say medication and petrol was stolen after thieves broke into the farm in Stockwell Lane, Aylburton, between 7.20pm on Wednesday, September 28 and 4.20am on Thursday, September 29.
Two calves were found dead and one injured after the thieves broke into the farm and made off with three bottles of an anti-inflammatory for cattle, three bottles of an antibiotic for cattle and a plastic fuel can of petrol.
It is believed the animals were frightened and banged their heads when the offenders entered the area.
