FOREST of Dean weightlifter Carl Bevan hopes to be included in the junior Great Britain powerlifting team later this year after taking the British title at Birmingham.
Carl, coached by international and British champion John Brookes at Whitecroft Gym, Carl took the junior 90kg class title after competing against lifters from Scotland and Ireland, several of whom were already internationals.
Brookes said: "He has trained really hard this season. Carl is a junior lifter with great potential for the future."
