I AM writing in response to the Llama attack at Smallbrook Farm as reported in the Review recently.

My family and I live close to the farm and can say, hand on heart, we have not heard gunshots at night or seen lights in Mr Fraser's two fields.

The land is actually overlooked by a number of properties and surely someone would have seen or heard something. In small villages like Netherend and Alvington, any suspicious activities would be reported to the police.

I am wondering if the newly born llama was ill. There are a number of buzzards, other carrion and foxes in the area and maybe these could be the culprits and not a rogue pack of dogs and men with guns. It may have even been the fox which Mr Fraser so kindly saved!

Mr Fraser mentioned poaching in the Forest and I am puzzled as to what this has to do with the death of the llama. I personally don't know what there is worth poaching on the fields around Alvington, as I am not aware of anything of value wandering round this area.
