LIKE Mr and Mrs Norman (Letters March 11, 2011), I was bemused by the letter I received from Mark Harper, MP.

I had not queried anything about post office closures, in the past or recently in my correspondence with him.

The content of my letter was a protest at the proposed selling off of the Forest and a protest over the jailing of the young lad – three years for throwing a fire extinguisher during the democratic student protest against university fees.

Whilst conceding it was a dangerous act, no-one was hurt and he owned up.

As I wrote to Mr Harper, Mr Cameron was caught out using taxpayers money to clear wisteria. Would he have paid back the money, if he had not been caught out?

And if we do jail people for what might have happened then Mr Cameron should be in jail!

He owned up and wants us to forget the misdemeanour, so since young Edward owned up, shouldn't he be back at his studies and not in jail?

I cannot see where post office closures come in to the above.

Personally I feel Mr Harper is not up to the job.

One can only hope by the next election – in all parties – we have local candidates who are not self serving but visionary, honest and inspirational!
