ANGLERS are being urged to cast their lines to net a cash windfall for charity.
Yorkley Angling Club are hosting a competition in aid of Macmillan Nurses Cancer Support Fund this Sunday, May 21, at Cannop No 1 Pond.
Club water bailiff Jan Norris said: “Not many people know that the Forest of Dean is one of the most hard hit in Gloucestershire, so by doing our bit hopefully we can make some difference to people’s lives.”
Tickets are available from Forest Tackle in Lydney. There will also be a draw for prizes donated by businesses in the area, and sausage and bacon rolls and refreshments will also be available.
An annual shield in memory of Jan’s late father George Bond will be presented to the winner.
