A GROUP of business and enterprise students at the Dean Academy in Lydney have been busy putting their entrepreneurial skills into practice to raise money for charity as part of their Level Two Cambridge Nationals Certificate course.
The enterprising Year 11 students set up their own businesses and in doing so made a profit of £579.62 which they divided between Macmillan Cancer Support and the Heart of the Forest Community Special School.
Ms Jo Webb, the business and enterprise teacher at the academy, said: “They have built-up a wide range of business skills in communicating with managers, co-operating with team members, negotiating deals, showing initiative and working together to create fantastic enterprise ventures. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them fly high in their future careers.”
The business ventures included the sale of baking kits, scented bath bombs, candle jars and specially printed Dean Academy t-shirts.
