I am an avid letters page reader, whether it be national

dailies, weekly locals, evening, or magazine.

Consequently, I notice that each journal has its regular

contributors, who generally have an opinion (which they

tend to want to foist on anyone/everyone). . . on most

topics they choose to write about.

Your paper is no exception to that general rule – and

I think that one of your most regular (and overweening,

for that matter) contributors, is probably bristling up at

this point of this letter – anticipating that I might, just

might be going to mention his name! Well, I suspect any

of your regular letter page readers will suss out that I

refer to your contributor (he is a contributor, and not a

regular columnist isn't he?) Mr Cy Roberts.

His factual input...and not "New Labour claptrap" are only

his opinions, despite his overbearing, domineering

attitude. He really bristled up to P. Young solely because

he doesn't have the same view as himself. That's

democracy Mr. Roberts, the same way as you have a right

to express your view, P. Young has too. But because he

has the temerity to hold another view, you berate him.

I note also that Mr. Roberts, leans briefly on "The Welsh

Parliament – another of GG's waste of public money"–

without actually "going off on one," about that!

I can't say I disagree, but then we're back to opinions.

Chill out Cy. Life's too short – unlike your letters! I am

confident that this will elicit a response from you.

Hope that the editor can spare the column inches – sorry,

yardage! – Stu Vigus, St Arvans, Chepstow.
