IF you think it has been a bit on the chilly side here recently, then spare a thought for John Stacey.

He’s been on holiday in the Arctic Circle but having a copy of his favourite newspaper took the edge off the temperatures of minus 22 degrees.

Of course the flask you can see in the picture might have helped warm up John, who lives in Upper Soudley.

When he wasn’t catching up with the best in Forest news, John was ice fishing on Lake Inari in northern Finnish Lapland – where the freezing period lasts from November until early June.
