THE English Civil War is about to erupt anew in Lydney Park – and it's all in aid of the James Hopkins Trust, the Gloucestershire-based children's charity.

Sealed Knot reenactment teams will be giving realistic displays at the event on June 4 and there will also be plenty of entertainment for all the family on the day.

Included are birds of prey static and flying displays, have-a-go archery, music, a jester, rune-reading, arts and crafts with blacksmiths, bouncy castles, a hog roast and other food and drink, beer tent with local beer and lots more.

The organisers are still looking for charitable organisations to run fete-type stalls and would like to hear from anyone who is interested. For details contact Penni Sharpe  on 01594-517111 or 07762-559329.
