IN response to complaints about parking Two Rivers Housing is introducing a wheel-clamping pilot scheme in the Tutnalls area of Lydney and in Broadwell.
The scheme will start on Monday February 2 and will continue for three months, says the housing association.
A spokesman said: "After receiving a number of complaints, Two Rivers wrote to the main perpetrators of unauthorised and inappropriate parking on grass verges, requesting that they respect their neighbours.
"Residents felt their actions were ruining the appearance of the estates. Unfortunately, the requests were ignored.
"Following consultation with tenants and residents within the Tutnalls area of Lydney and Broadwell, over 88 per cent felt Two Rivers Housing should be doing more to address the issue of cars parking on grassed areas and verges.
"More than 60 per cent of residents were in favour of a system such as car clamping. This was subsequently reviewed by Two Rivers Housing Tenant Strategy Group, and it was agreed that a three month pilot scheme should be introduced."
TRH have ensured that residents were sent personal letters to inform them about the pilot and there will be large, clear warning signs displayed that will be visible to anyone parking in the area. The pilot will also feature in Tenant Topics, the residents' quarterly newsletter.
Garry King, chief executive of Two Rivers, added: "In response to residents, we have engaged the services of an external clamping company to administer the scheme and we will not benefit financially in any way from the clamping, removal or storage fees for any vehicle."
