WITH the country in crisis concerning the foot and mouth outbreak, and other horrific occurences seemingly taking place at regular intervals, perhaps my letter of complaint may appear ill-timed.

However, I would like to draw attention to the disgusting condition of the woods adjoining the Garden City to Marten Road, Bulwark.

The amount of non-perishable items dumped in this area has to be seen to be believed, anything from washing machines, cookers, mattresses, bicycles, to name but a few – discarded, unwanted trash. Apart from this eyesore the woods stink of other rubbish which has been strewn around.

Parents regularly walk their children to school through this area and eventually it will become a breeding ground for rats and other vermin and we all know what will happen then.

Please clean up this area and fine the people who are responsible for their couldn't-care-less attitude. – James Radclyffe, Marten Road, Bulwark.
