BRITNEY Spears lookalike (sort of) for the day Stan Halford of The Feathers in Coleford, along with his partner Sue Aston, took to the streets last Saturday in a charity bed push to raise money for the children's charity CLIC Sargent.

Stan and Sue together with over 20 of theirs regulars, all in fancy dress, started at the Feathers, and visited all the pubs in Coleford, before taking a route up Sunnybank to Christchurch, then Berry Hill, continuing to Five Acres, Mile End and Coalway, before returning to Coleford after a last stop at The Bells Hotel.

Stan says: "This is our second bed push and third charity event. We have previously managed to raise nearly £2,500 for charity before today.

Sue added: "To mark our second anniversary at The Feathers we wanted to make an extra effort to exceed our previous totals."

The fund raising continued through to the evening with raffles, sponsored waxing and head shaving, and many other prizes up for auction.

"We anticipate that we will have raised well in excess of £1,000 on the day for CLIC Sargent. I would like to thank all the local businesses who donated prizes so generously, all of the individuals we harassed for money during the day, and to our regulars who gave their time so generously on a Bank Holiday weekend. Special thanks go to The Globe for the well needed food and refreshments they provided," said Stan.
