A 49-year-old man has been charged following a bomb hoax in Gloucester on Saturday.

Zak Babar, of Market Place, was arrested after members of the public in the city centre reported a man threatening to blow himself up.

No device was found and the incident is not thought to be related to terrorism.

He will appear before Cheltenham magistrates tomorrow (Monday) charged with making a bomb hoax, said a spokesman for Gloucestershire Police.
