ALL over the Dean and Wye Valley this week and on the coming Remembrance Sunday (November 14) communities will be gathering to remember and honour the dead of two world wars and later conflicts.
Many will gather at memorials and cenotaphs for ceremonies and services on Armistice Day on Thursday, while some ceremonies have already taken place.
One such ceremony took place at Coleford Cemetery on Sunday morning (November 7) following the annual dedication of the Garden of Remembrance at the Clock Tower in the centre of Coleford.
However the Remembrance Sunday services are important calendar dates for most people who regularly show their gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Among the services and ceremonies are:
Berry Hill: The residents of Berry Hill will meet in The Hut for a special service, Berry Hill Remembers, at 6pm on Sunday.
