MORNING commuters were brought to a halt on Monday morning as the road at Huntley was closed for three hours.

Police diverted HGVs and buses heading towards Plump Hill at Nailbridge following an accident that happened on the junction for Longhope Road on the A40.

A man from near Mitcheldean driving a grey Ford Focus and a 25-year-old motorcyclist from Brecon, in South Powys, Mid Wales, were involved in a collision at 5.55am. It is thought they didn't sustain life-threatening injuries although the woman was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with leg and wrist injuries.

The road was reopened just before 9am.
