LET not the OAPs be conned by Hague's pension trick. The Tories will not give us any more money, in fact, it will cost us.
If they take the extras that we get now, and put it on the basic pension, we shall be paying tax on this extra money. There's a con trick, if you like.
Ask who signed Early Day Motion No. 13 in the House. This stated that "This House believes that 75p a week increase in pensions (retirement) would be inadequate." I believe not one Tory signed; typical. Have they ever given us OAPs a fair deal?
It was 'dear Maggie' who stopped the pensions rising in relation to earnings, thus robbing us of a calculated £30 a week. Remember that?
It seems that Gordon Brown seems to favour the richest people in the country; example, 1p off income tax, whilst giving us 75p a week.
The indirect tax rises mean that the poorest in society are paying the same extra rises as a multi millionaire.
I think Brown is realising he has been unfair to us, and I am sure he will rectify this soon. So, don't vote Tory. – George W. Sankey, Aust Crescent, Chepstow.
