I refer to your editorial in last week's Review regarding "Voice of the People".
I want to make it perfectly clear that both the public and elected members should have the ability to submit as many questions that they wish to FoDDC, without restrictions.
The suggestion by Cllr Hogan that questions to full council should be limited are his own personal views, and he did not receive a mandate from the Labour group to support his position.
Absolutely not in my name.
With regards to how many questions Alan Preest, or anyone else, submits is irrelevant.
It is a measure of those people who take the time and effort to submit probing and challenging questions.
That they do so is due to the fact that they care about their communities and the issues and decisions affecting their lives.
Democracy needs probing and questioning voices, and this should be welcomed and not constrained.
– Cllr Paul McMahon, Coleford East, Forest of Dean District Council.
